Working with Families & Individuals
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, family, and children’s issues. My passion is working with families and individuals to help them overcome barriers that stop them from living the life they envision. I bring a wealth experiences both personally and professionally to counseling. Over the past 19 years I have worked with children and their families as a teacher, school counselor, and now a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have had the opportunity to work with clients in individual counseling, small group counseling, and provide parenting classes. As a counselor I have experience with with ADHD, anxiety, depression, oppositional behavior, relationship issues, and trauma.
The philosophy that guides my counseling comes from believing that you behave in certain ways as a result of life experiences. Motivation for any particular behavior can not be thoroughly understood without a greater knowledge of your social and cultural experiences, family of origin, childhood memories, past and current relationships as well as the thoughts and feelings of individuals. The combination of these experiences influence the way individuals view and respond to the world. My goal as a counselor is to guide you by provide opportunities where you can safely examine sensitive subjects, gain insight about your motivations, and discover practical solutions to your life challenges.
